Nancy Lueck is the Director of Public Relations for Bloomingdale’s Ala Moana. She supports the first Bloomingdale’s to enter the Hawaiian market, engaging with community partners and visitors to experience a true premiere retail destination. Nancy develops an exciting slate of special events that create a store like no other in the Hawaii market. Previously she held the Regional Public Relations position for the Bloomingdale’s West Coast region.
Nancy began her retail career as a buyer for Joseph Magnin in 1978 and subsequently led the Public Relations for Anne Klein & Co nationwide until 1994. Nancy joined Bloomingdale’s in 1996 opening the first Bloomingdale’s store in the San Francisco Bay Area in Palo during Bloomingdale’s entre to the California market. Nancy’s career with Bloomingdale’s is in its 19th year.
Nancy’s family roots in Hawaii are as deep as her passion for the island of Oahu. Her mother and maternal grandparents lived in Honolulu during the golden years of the 1920’s-1940’s. Her grandfather led the restaurant and catering departments at The Royal Hawaiian Hotel, her grandmother was the head housekeeper at the Moana Hotel and her great grandmother was the hat check girl at the Waialae Country Club during special events. Nancy’s father was stationed at Pearl Harbor during WWII and met her mother at the commissary during a chance encounter. Nancy’s life-long dream of living in Hawaii is now a reality.
Nancy is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of University of Southern California, Los Angeles and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree.
