XMlviMuEwVye0n0W64nT6a_E8M8_w64od3VSG_5w8-sLealyn Poponi has lived on Oahu for 3 years and grew up on a horse farm in south eastern Michigan. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University where she designed her own field of study with concentrations in Human Behavior, Business and Communications. She has always been drawn to helping positions and has been a social worker, parent educator and fitness coach. She wasn't raised in an affectionate family and so affection and touching hasn't always come natural to her. She started holding monthly "Free Hug" events in Waikiki two years ago. This helped her become more comfortable with hugging strangers. It also gave her friends and family the notion that she should start a cuddling business since it has been proven to be a successful endeavor on the mainland and in Japan. She decided to start Aloha Cuddle Company in June of this year to raise awareness around the importance of touch and to be there for people who are deprived of it.
