Kina`u Shipman currently serves as the Office Administrator for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Hawaii. In her position, she is responsible for the day to day operations of the organization, oversees and coordinates special events and programs, assists with victim services, plans media events and handles communications within the organization and to the organizations’ constituents. Ms. Shipman also serves as the coordinator of volunteers and speaker presentations and she assists with fund development. Prior to her current role, Shipman served as a volunteer board member and currently chairs MADD Hawaii’s communications committee. Her work with MADD began more than 15 years ago when she worked for Joan Bennet and Associates, helping MADD with media relations, brand management, and strategic planning. Shipman understands the world of communications as she has also worked as a weekend assignment editor and morning show producer for KHON 2 News. Before working in the field of communications, Shipman taught at ASSETS, Iolani School, Sacred Hearts Academy and Punahou School. Ms. Shipman also teaches yoga and enjoys spending time with her family.
