José A. Fajardo, PRESIDENT & GENERAL MANAGER-Hawaii Public Radio
José A. Fajardo (pronounced “fuh-HAR-doe”) became Hawaiʻi Public Radio’s President and General Manager in June of 2016. Prior to his arrival in Hawaiʻi, he was based in Florida and held the post of Executive Vice President for the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce. Previous to his tenure with the Chamber of Commerce, he served as President & CEO for WMFE-TV/FM, the member-supported public broadcasting stations for Central Florida. Fajardo has enjoyed a 30-plus year career in broadcasting, starting in 1984 in Central Texas. He was born and raised in Puerto Rico.
Fajardo was an active Board member on several local, state, and national Boards, including serving as director on the National Public Radio (NPR) Board of Directors twice. Currently, Fajardo is a member of the Hawai‘i Art Alliance Board, and an active member of the Honolulu Rotary Club.

Fajardo is a native of Puerto Rico. He holds an MBA from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.
