Gene first came to Honolulu in the mid 1950’s to try out the big surf on the North Shore. After graduating from USC with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration he worked for HOPACO for a couple of years He joined the Peace Corps where he met his wife and got into banking. He specialized in lending to small and medium sized businesses and for a number of years was the largest producer of SBA loans in the State. He later was recruited to start a bank on Maui which he created from scratch and ran it for 5 years. Gene has always be a champion swimmer and is an All-American. He is currently the fastest in the State in his age group. He has been a Rotarian for over 50 years.
