Matthew K.H. McCarville

Having completed a 23 year career as an Army officer, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Matt McCarville became a Financial Advisor in 2004.  Matt works with affluent families and nonprofits, helping to develop and implement financial plans to achieve their goals.  He emphasizes risk management strategies with portfolios designed to achieve growth, income, and wealth preservation.  Matt joined Morgan Stanley in September of 2011, and moved his practice to the Honolulu office in July of 2013.

In 2010, Matt was one of only ten Financial Advisors nationwide to be awarded the Bank of America Merrill Lynch David Brady Award in recognition of excellence in client partnership and commitment. 

Hawaii Business Magazine named Matt a 2016 Five Star Wealth Manager.

Matt is a 1981 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and holds an MA in Human Resources from Webster University.  His military education includes the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.  He served as a U.S. Army Airborne Ranger, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge for his service with Special Operations in Desert Shield / Desert Storm.
Matt is engaged in helping to make our communities stronger.  A lifetime member of the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA), Matt serves as the VP of Wounded Warrior & Family Programs for the Hawaii Chapter.  He serves as a Co-Chair of the Na Koa Wounded Warrior Canoe Regatta.  He is an active supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project.  He also supports the Dolphin Research Center, Help Our Military Heroes, and the Sons of Italy for their works with wounded warriors and their families.  Matt serves as a member of the Board for the Oahu Veterans Center and for Access Surf Hawaii.  He is a lifetime member of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), the VFW, and the U.S. Military Academy’s Association of Graduates. 
Matt and his wife, Karen, live in Hawaii Kai, HI.  Their son, Matthew, is a Director of Corporate Development and Finance at Era Group, Inc., based in Houston.  Their daughter, Caitlin, is pursuing a Doctorate in Music and Vocal Performance at the University of North Texas.
